Who Pays For Camp?Running a camp as big as Camp Glen Gray requires lots of people and lots of money. Even though camp is part of the Bergen County Park System, we are self-sufficient.
We get no direct monetary support from the county. Instead, rental fees, donations and fund raisers provide the funds we need. But only about 60% of our needs are met by rental fees. Contributions and fund raisers must make up the other 40%. As stewards of this beautiful camp, we make every penny count.
People make up the other part of the equation. With only a minimal paid staff, camp could not run without a large group of volunteers. Where ever you look around camp, you'll see projects done by volunteers. Families, groups, Scout troops and companies help us keep camp humming. The campmasters in the office and around camp are just some of the volunteers. Camp work days see a friendly group of folks coming up to work and enjoy lunch.
How can you help? We always gratefully welcome contributions. As a 501c3 non-profit organization, your contribution is tax deductible. See if your employer matches your donations, that can multiply what you give. We can always use contibutions of supplies and services. Check with camp to see what they need. Most importantly, bring your friends, your family or your co-workers up to camp and help us with the many projects that we always have.
