CAMP GLEN GRAY RULES


To use Camp Glen Gray, we expect the following guidelines and policies to be followed

RESERVATIONS AND ENTRY TO CAMP

  • Entry to camp is by advance reservation only.
  • Payment in full is due with reservation. If reservation is made by email, online, phone or mail, full payment is due within 10 days or facilities being held will be given to the next customer.
  • You must pay a $50.00 damage/utility deposit for each building you occupy. You can give your host either cash or a blank check when you arrive at camp. Prior to leaving it will be returned to you if there was no damage or utilities charge.
  • Check-in is between 3:00 PM and 9:00 PM on Friday or from 8:00 AM to 9:00 PM on Saturday, unless other prior arrangements have been made. If you must deviate from the time of arrival on your reservation, you must contact the camp before arriving.
  • Checkout is by 1:00 PM on Sunday, unless other specific arrangements are made with the camp.
  • If your group expects your Day Visitor count to exceed either 10 vehicles or 20 people, we must be notified at the time of your reservation to ensure we have adequate resources to accommodate your groups needs.

IT IS REQUESTED THAT NO ONE ARRIVE OR LEAVE CAMP AFTER
10:00 PM ANY EVENING WITH THE EXCEPTION OF EMERGENCIES.

VEHICLES AT CAMP

  • Parking in designated areas only. If attending a large event such as a camporee, please note that parking is limited and every effort should be made to carpool where possible.
  • GUEST/CAMPER VEHICLES ARE NOT PERMITTED BEYOND THE PARKING LOT.
  • Round trip trucking of gear to cabins and campsites is available for a $25 fee. Make arrangements when reserving your site. Weather and the availability of a driver on the actual reservation date could affect the availability of this service. Trucking service ends at 9:00 PM.

WHILE AT CAMP

  • You must be 21 years of age or older to camp, unless accompanied by a parent or guardian or a member of an organized group (See next item).
  • Organized groups must have adequate adult supervision - at least 2 responsible adults over 21 years of age per campsite.
  • Camp only in those places specifically reserved by you.
  • If you intend to take advantage of the many hiking trails available at camp and plan to be away from the base camp, you should advise the camp office of your plans including approximate time of return.
  • Quiet hours are between 10:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. Please be considerate of others.
  • For camp programs or program assistance, you must contact the camp prior to arriving at camp. For special programs, you must contact the camp at least one week prior to arriving at camp.
  • Bears and other wildlife are active in camp – take necessary safety precautions. Check with camp office if you are uncertain what to do.
  • Cabins with electric service – this is to be used for lighting and medical devices only.
  • In cabins with propane stoves or cook top burners - the appliances are to be used ONLY for cooking, not for heating or to remain on at any other times.
  • Mary Post Field, unless otherwise rented, is for shared use. Fires are not permitted in or around the field.

STRICTLY PROHIBITED

  • The possession or use of DRUGS AND ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES ON CAMP PROPERTY IS PROHIBITED.
  • Firearms, archery equipment, air rifles, pellet guns, slingshots or other weapons capable of injuring people or wildlife are prohibited.
  • Use of fireworks or other explosives within camp is prohibited.
  • Smoking in any camp building is prohibited.
  • No pets allowed in Camp.
  • No chain saws, snowmobiles, bicycles, ATV’s or sledding.
  • In the winter, absolutely no one is permitted on the ice at any time.
 

ACCIDENTS AND INJURIES

  • If any emergency requires you to call 911, do so immediately. Notify the camp office immediately so we can direct the responders to you once they arrive in camp.
  • All injuries, accidents and incidents are to be reported to the camp office.
  • It is the individual camper or group’s responsibility to care for personal injuries.
  • The camp office can direct you to the nearest medical facility and can summon emergency medical help and/or police if necessary.

WATERFRONT

  • The waterfront is closed for swimming, boating or canoeing unless arrangements have been made in advance and all required safety requirements and rules have been satisfied.
  • Fishing is permitted under state license and seasons.
  • No fishing off of the dam or around the waterfront swimming area.

TOILET FACILITIES

  • Use latrines at designated areas.
  • Latrines are for human waste and toilet tissue only

SANITATION

  • Help prevent pollution by keeping garbage, litter, and foreign substances out of lakes, streams, and other waters.
  • All garbage and litter must be deposited in the parking lot dumpster, or taken with you when you leave.

FIRES AND STOVES

  • Fire permits are required and will be issued at check-in.
  • You must use existing fire rings.
  • Camp stoves -– Bottled Liquid Propane (LP) gas stoves using the 1.02 lb bottle is preferred. Liquid fuel stoves (such as Coleman stoves using white gas) may be used only by ADULTS.
  • Gas containers larger than 1.02 lbs are NOT allowed inside cabins.
  • Obey any restrictions on fires. Fires may be limited or prohibited at certain times.
  • Be sure your fire is completely extinguished before leaving.
  • Do not leave your fire unattended. You are responsible for keeping fires under control.
  • Firewood is not provided. Wood may be available for sale at the Trading Post.
  • Cabins should have a courtesy pile of firewood for the first night’s fire. Additional wood must be harvested, purchased or brought with you.
  • There is an ample supply of fallen dead trees around camp that can be used for firewood.
  • Cabin renters must leave a courtesy pile of firewood for the next user when they depart or $25 will be retained from your cabin deposit fee for replacement.

CAMP PROPERTY

  • Preserve and protect our camp. Leave natural areas the way you find them.
  • Do not carve, chop, cut and damage any live trees.
  • Do not throw rocks, sticks or any other objects in camp.
  • In the winter, absolutely no one is permitted on the ice at any time. Please, no throwing of stones or sticks on the lake ice!
  • Report any damage of camp facilities to the camp office.
  • Leave the wildlife alone.
