Camp loses a friend - Paul Wiggin

The family of Paul Wiggin has informed us of Paul's death early January 22, at home. It is with a heavy heart that we convey the sad news to all.

WIGGIN - Paul Benson, of Upper Montclair, N.J., on Jan. 22, 2006

Beloved husband of 49 years to Mieke Wiggin; dear father of Carl and his wife, Patti; Emilie Wiggin; Peter and his fiancee, Emily; and Marion Wiggin; brother of Nancy Townsend and the late Blanton Wiggin; brother-in-law of Gale Wiggin; also survived by two grandchildren. A Mass will be offered in St. Cassian's Church, Upper Montclair, on Saturday, Jan. 28, at 11:30 a.m. A day celebrating his life will be held at Camp Glen Gray in Oakland later this year. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Friends of Glen Gray, P.O. Box 43654, Upper Montclair, N.J. 07043-5654, or the New Jersey Stroke Activity Center, 725 Joralemon St., Suite 191, Belleville, N.J. 07109, or the Montclair Volunteer Ambulance Unit, 95 Walnut St., Montclair, N.J. 07042.

Generations of boys learned waterfront skills from Paul during his many years of service on camp staff.

We fondly remember watching Paul and his staff test ice rescue skills on a frozen Lake Vreeland during Boy Scout Klondikes.

In lieu of flowers, the family generously asks that donations be sent to the Friends of Glen Gray, Inc., PO BOX 43654, Upper Montclair NJ 07043-4654, to benefit the camp he so loved and served so well for so many years.
