Camp Glen Gray

Library Photos

Camp founder "Uncle" Frank Gray would spend summers living up the hill in the Old Guard cabin (Sleepy Hollow), but as his health worsened, he was unable to climb up the hill. The original Library was built for him in 1922. As the original library building deteriorated, it was torn down and reconstructed. View the reconstruction pictures.

Today, the Library is used for special events and programming as announced here on our web site.

The Library porch beckoned visitors, as Uncle once said, to "come and sit awhile".

From the porch you face Lake Vreeland which mirrors the sky and the hills surrounding camp.

The newly reconstructed building has been renamed as the John C. Whitehead Library in honor of a great friend of camp.   John Whitehead (OG '37) inspects the library on dedication day.

The Library interior. The Library houses the Fred Blake Memorial camp museum, honoring one of the people responsible for building our camp. The museum is used to display the vast quantity of historic material contained in the camp archives.
