Camp Glen Gray

Lake Vreeland

Lake Vreeland

The lake was formed at the intersection of the North and South Brooks when the Kidde-Miller dam was constructed. Our lake has a thriving gamefish population consisting of Largemouth Bass, Bluegill Sunfish, Pickerel, and Channel Catfish. In the fall, a catch and release fishing derby is lots of fun. Fishing is available anytime (age 16 and over require a NJ fishing license).

Boating Explore the wonders of Lake Vreeland when you rent one of the camp's rowboats.

Lake Vreeland Looking down the lake towards the dam. The dam was built in the early days of the camp. In order to swim, a boy had to bring a large rock to the lake. These rocks were then dropped between two temporary walls. Cement was then poured over each rock layer, eventually creating the dam you see today.

Thin Ice? A sunny spring day makes this sign somewhat unnecessary.

Lake-side seat A comfortable seat by a beautiful lake.

Near the shore Fish a plenty share the waters of Lake Vreeland.
