Camping With a Judaic Flavor

New Jersey Kinus Committee

New Jersey Statewide Kinus

Plan to join us for the 2009 NJ Kinus Weekends
Dates to be announced

For over 46 years, Jewish Scouts from New Jersey and the Northeast have enjoyed a weekend of Scouting with a Jewish flavor. In 2008 the New Jersey Kinus Committee ran two weekend events. Camperships to both events were available (contact chair Dan Chazin for information).

Girl Scouts are cordially invited to join us (and did) - Daisies, Brownies and Juniors are invited to the Cub Scout Kinus, while Cadets and Seniors are invited to the Boy Scout Kinus.

We are known for our excellent and varied kosher meals served in the open-air dining hall. Available housing included tent sites (bring your own tents), leantos and shared cabins. Check out the sample schedules below for a idea of the activities.

Cub Scout Kinus - May 16 - 18, 2008, Camp No-Be-Bo-Sco, Blairstown, NJ
Several hundred Cub Scouts and their families attended a weekend of Scouting and Jewish events while enjoying delicious (and strictly Kosher) meals. We enjoyed beautiful Camp No-Be, off exit 12 on Route I-80. Cabins, leantos and tents were filled with happy Cub Scouts and their families.

Boy Scout Kinus - May 23 - 26, 2008, Camp No-Be-Bo-Sco, Blairstown, NJ
Boy Scouts and their families attended a long weekend at a beautiful camp. We ate delicious Kosher food and had lots of fun activities combining Scouting skills with Judaism. We camped in tents, leantos and cabins. Sports, learning about the Ner Tamid and Etz Chaim awards and the hikes without lights were just spectacular. Did I mention the great food?
