Donald Cabin

A wood stove heats this cabin. Sleeping is done in four doubledecker bunks. The cabin sits on a ridge above the Cannonball Trail. In warm weather, enjoy the deck with a picnic table outside of the cabin.

Glen and Gray Cabins

Capacity: 12 people per cabin

       Water in season: Yes. Winter water is at HQ Well.
Latrine: Bathroom with shower and toilet in season
In winter, closest bathroom is parking lot toilets

The Glen and Gray cabins are less rustic than most cabins in camp. A four burner cooktop, sink and counter make cooking easy.

There are four bedrooms with 4 bunks, 4 bunks, 2 bunks and 2 bunks in them. All rooms have electric lights.

The picture is of the Gray Cabin. The Glen Cabin is a mirror image. Although located across the road from the Caretaker's house the cabins are somewhat private at the end of a short road.

On the road side of Fox Brook is Caretaker's Field. There is a fire ring and tent platforms.

Old Guard Cabin (Sleepy Hollow) CLOSED-Under renovation

       Water in season: Down the hill across from the Council Ring or outside of Mothercroft
Latrine: Just past Mothercroft going towards Beaverville lean-tos
 

Old Guard cabin (Sleepy Hollow) was the summer home of one of the founders of camp, Frank Gray. The cabin is maintained by the Old Guard of Camp Glen Gray. This group supports and promotes the camp. This cabin is closed during the winter.

Explorer Cabin

Capacity: 10 people

       Water in season: Yes. Winter water is at Headquarter's Well.
Latrine: Just past the Boat House
 

Explorer cabin is small but cozy. It sleeps 10 in its double bunks. The kitchen has a four burner stovetop, table and in warm weather the cabin has a sink with running water.

A wood stove keeps the cabin warm in winter. The cabin also has electricity and electric lights.

From its large front deck, you get a great view of Lake Vreeland. Two large tent platforms and a BBQ grill are right outside of the cabin.

Troop 13 Cabin

Capacity: 12 people

       Water in season: At Hawk Ridge tentsite. Winter water is at the West Well.
Latrine: At Eagle's Nest or Hawk Ridge tentsites

Channel Cabin

Capacity: 14 people

Latrine: Uses the latrine across from the Troop 2 Cabin

The cabin was renamed after the old Channel Home Center store in Ramsey, NJ, that donated the materials used to refurbish the cabin in the 1980's. Has a dry sink and kitchen counter and tables with benches, gas lighting and contains 7 double bunks. Refurbished in late 2009.

Gilwell Cabin

Capacity: 16 people

A two room cabin. The lower room has bunks, a table, a wood stove and a kitchen area, with a sink. The upper room has bunks. The upper room entrance is ramped, the lower entrance has steps. There are also steps connecting the upper and lower room. Also in the Gilwell site are the Gilwell leantos and tent platforms as well. Mary Post Field is only steps away.

Rotary Cabin

Capacity: 16 people

       Water in season: Yes. Winter water is at Headquarter's well.

This cabin has two rooms. A large room with bunks, tables and a kitchen area with a counter, sink and stove with oven, and a smaller room off the main room. Can be arranged as 12 bunks and 4 bunks or 14 bunks and 2 bunks in the large and small rooms. The cabin is located right above the parking lot. In warm weather, the cabin is just above the flush toilets in the parking lot. In cold weather a latrine is near the Boat House or there are porta-potties in the parking lot.

Up the hill, you can use the old Pattigumpus tent site to hold overflow from the cabin as well as hold campfires.

This two room cabin has a wood stove in each room. The main room has a stove and table. The cabin has gas lighting.

Troop 12 Cabin

Winter water is at the West well.

This cabin is sponsored by Boy Scout Troop 12, Montclair, NJ. The cabin is perched dramatically up the ridge commanding a great view of camp.

Benedict Lodge

Capacity: 24 people

       Water in season: Yes. Winter water is at the West well.
Latrine: In Gilwell site
 

Benedict Lodge has a large room with 20 bunks, tables and a kitchen area (with sink and stovetop). Winter water is at the West Well. There are two smaller rooms off the main room each with 2 bunks. The front door is ramped making the cabin wheelchair accessible.

From the cabin's front yard, you have a great view of Lake Vreeland.

Tindall Lodge

Capacity: 24 people

Tindall Lodge is out on Cannonball Trail on the way to Camp Yaw Paw. A large room contains bunks, tables and a kitchen area with dry sink and counters.

The closest water is at the West Well.

Troop 2 Cabin

Troop 2 Cabin is the largest cabin in camp. It has ten triple level wooden bunks. It can be split into two rooms with a canvas divider. Each section has a wood stove. The kitchen area has counters, a dry sink and a full stove with oven. Gas lamps and skylights in the roof provide illumination.

North Brook runs behind the cabin.

Troop 4 Cabin

NOT YET READY TO BE RENTED
Troop 4 Cabin is one of the oldest buildings in camp. Unused for many years, it is in the process of being rehabilitated. The cabin sits up the hill on the trail past the Gray Cabin. It last belonged to Montclair Boy Scout Troop 4, Frank Gray's troop.
