A Campsite Dedicated to the Memory of a Good Friend of Camp

This leanto and tent site is dedicated to the memory of Edward "Augie" Schroeder, who died in the service of his country in Iraq in 2005. The site is at the former Archery Range known to many as Fox Den.

Augie was an active Boy Scout from Maplewood who served on Camp Staff. In 1999 he was called as an Honored Member of The Old Guard of Camp Glen Gray in recognition of his service and contributions to Camp Glen Gray.

A group of hard workers spent considerable time and effort to expand and rehabilitate the Archery Shelter into a very large leanto (38' wide by 9' deep), which will benefit campers for years to come.

The site has a large camp fire ring, several picnic tables and lots of room for tents. A latrine right in the site has running water in warm weather.

Some of Augie's family and friends at the site dedication on November 11, 2006.
